About the message: This is one of at least two attack mailers sent by state Sen. Owen Hill, one of four Republicans challenging incumbent Congressman Doug Lamborn in the 5th congressional district. It takes aim at Lamborn, and Darryl Glenn, who is finishing second to Lamborn in some polls.

The mailer characterizes Lamborn and Glenn as "counterfeit" conservatives. And it repeats a "drain the swamp" and budget vote by Lamborn referenced in a TV attack ad by a super PAC against Lamborn. The allegations about Lamborn supporting Planned Parenthood are taken out of context, he was among many Republicans voting for the bill.

About the messenger: Republican state Sen. Owen Hill is an Air Force veteran who owns a management consulting company.

The messenger's money: Hill raised $424,000 for his congressional race through March 31.
