About the message:
This mailer from super PAC Senate Majority Fund criticizes Democratic state Rep. Faith Winter, saying she doesn't prioritize education.
Here's a look at the measures cited:
- She voted for a bill to prevent state income tax deductions for those who use 529 education savings accounts intended for college instead for K-12 private school tuition. The measure would not have made any changes to the current college savings program, other than taxing withdrawls to pay for K-12 private school. That bill died in the Senate.
- She voted against budget amendments to increase funding for schools and technology in schools. The measure would have taken money away from Medicaid reimbursments or the state employee pension program, according to the Denver Post.
Winter is challenging GOP state Sen. Beth Martinez Humenik.
